Few technologies have transitioned from obscurity to implementation as rapidly as Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI).

Seemingly matching its pace has been the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) with its Memorandum M-24-10 from March 2024. OMB M-24-10 established requirements for AI governance, innovation, and risk management, mandated federal agencies to identify and remove barriers to AI adoption, and set an aggressive 60-day deadline for most to appoint a Chief Artificial Intelligence Officer (CAIO).
